Midlands based photographer working in specialist portraiture, events and documentary.
Amy-Rose Deffley’s photography technique involves a soft documentary style, achieving candid and natural looking photos which promote the sitters inner as well as outer beauty. She specialises in working with clients who might find it difficult to cope with the demands of a photographers studio, using skills gained from a background of working within Special Schools and Care Homes. Her heartfelt images show the sitter at ease and comfortable in their own surroundings, providing them with moving photographs to keep for a lifetime. She works mainly, but not exclusively in Specialist Portraiture, Weddings and Documentary. Here is a statement from Amy-Rose:
‘When I take people’s photograph, I first of all think, “how would I like to look in a photo? Beautiful? Natural? Individual?” These are some of the key points of reference for me when interacting with my client, after all they are sharing a special moment essentially with a total stranger. I feel my informal, fluid style of shooting helps me get to the point where I can provide authentic, organic images. Often the best images I take are developed in conversation with my sitter, allowing me to capture people in their best light, when they are relaxed and comfortable with me. For me, the the main motivation to take photos is all about people. I like to get closer, learn more and ultimately hear their journey and share in their experiences.
