What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For me to provide the most accurate quote possible ideally I would need the following information;
Number of guests, the flavour of cake and size of the cake (although I can estimate through the number of guests)
Any themes you would like it to go with and any designs you may have seen elsewhere.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly I would always ask to see previous work or work that is similar to what you are asking for. Visit the provider's website if they have one to get a feel of the service and quality they can provide and read any reviews via the website, social media.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I started to think about baking when my daughter turned 1, I had a bad experience on my son's first birthday with a cake I had ordered and spent a lot of money on for it to turn out not how I wanted, the wrong colour, the wrong shape and didn't taste overly good. So I took to the kitchen so the same didn't happen. I was pleasantly surprised and from then on got asked to bake and decorate for friends and family. I took the plunge to make this into a part-time business in 2014 and the rest is history. I absolutely love baking and creating new ideas for customers, its so much fun.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I haven't been on Add to Event too long but have recently had my first booking for a birthday cake. All went so smoothly, from talking through the requirements, taking a deposit and the end result and delivering. Getting to meet the person behind the order was my favourite part. I am super happy with the service provided and it's so easy to use, notifications straight to my phone and requests to quote are brilliant, I have recommended a friend to Add to Event which she will hopefully join shortly.
