What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
Our fee is fixed but travel costs can vary. Once we know the distance from our base we can quote an inclusive fee. Venue details and guest numbers will affect the arrangements but these can be discussed separately.
If advice about the organisation would be useful we can certainly help with that too.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Seeking the cheapest option can be a great mistake: as with most things, you will only get what you pay for. Some ceilidh bands can do this on a shoestring because they enjoy playing at events despite not being up to the required standard. A paid booking at any price gives them a feeling of status but they will erode yours in the eyes of your guests. Where available a recommendation will be worthwhile. Many of our bookings come from people whose friends have booked us or attended one of our bookings, so they know in advance what to expect.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Music in various forms has been my main interest from childhood. When I became aware of ceilidh bands I just knew this just had to become part of my range of musical activities.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Weddings, birthdays and social events are our main focus of activity and these tend to be similar in style but vastly different in detail. The ones that came from 'Add To Event' have been uniformly successful and enjoyable. They introduce us to the hirer at the start of the negotiating process, so we don't have to fear the potential 'third-party confusion' that can so easily result when someone tries to speak for you. Agencies that don't do this used to inspire much finger-crossing!.
