What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us at RJ Entertainments, to be able to provide an accurate quote we need the following:
Venue details, this is always very important as allows us to calculate the time it will take us to travel to you! We don’t charge extra for travel, but we need to be able to allocate time between performances. It’s important for us to know if the venue is inside or outside, because of things like wind conditions, some of the magic props we would use in the show may be slightly different.
It’s also important to receive a rough estimate of the amount of guest attending your event. This is mainly because we often supply nice prizes, especially for the children.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly, ask the provider for as much detail as you can about what the product or service is. When it comes to entertainers or children’s entertainers especially, I would look at reviews from previous customers. I also have a customer database of previous customers willing to speak on the telephone with my new customers. I think in this day and age anybody can claim to be a child’s entertainer, sadly it doesn’t make them a good one. There are many entertainers out there that are good at what they do, however, I think it's so important to do your research and not be disappointed on the day.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I fell in love with the art of magic at the young age of just 6. After winning many talent shows and competitions and receiving numerous awards. It wasn’t long before I realised I could make a true living out of what it was that I loved doing the most. I love to see the joy on my audiences face whilst I entertain them, getting paid for what you love means you will never work a day in your life, I feel very lucky and honoured to do what I do :)
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Sadly, I’ve actually only been with Add to Event for one week, so I haven’t been able to perform for a customer from this website. However, since signing up I have taken a few bookings via this platform which is fantastic. I find the website incredibly easy to navigate, I find it incredibly easy to keep in touch with customers and I’m certain I will use Add to Event for years and years to come!
