What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
We need the following information:
What type of event are you planning to have? With this information it allows us to suggest appropriate equipment to suit the event or create a package of equipment appropriate
How many people are you expecting to your event and what ages bracket do they fall into. This is useful to check the products will meet the needs of the people on the day and also there are sufficient inflatables for the number of people.
How would you like to operate the event?
Will it be a hire only (we drop off, set up and show your team how to operate and then return to pack down and take away) or we operate the event on your behalf.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
As an approved BHIA and PIPA company all of our equipment is tested and safe to use, It is important to check any company is fully insured, Has the inflatable safety inspection which will confirm it is safe to play on and meets the British standards. All electrical equipment should be Portable Appliance tested to confirm with electrical safety.
If the hirer has all of this in place it then comes down to Hygiene. Do they have a cleaning process in place and what does it look like?
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Started by Steve, with the backing of his wife Suzanne, we have been in business since 2008. Steve took a leap of faith in 2010 and decided to set up the business as a full-time venture and gave up his job in logistics and IT. He took a decision back then, during the deepest recession in our lifetime to throw everything he had at making the business a success. "I did this because I enjoy it. We are always meeting people from varying backgrounds, in all areas of the county and beyond when they are having fun. There's nothing better than job satisfaction when we have provided equipment and services for birthday parties, weddings, christenings or large corporate events and the customer has had fun, and we mean fun".
Recently we have grown into our own. In 2015 we won our first award, winning small business of the year in our local business awards. This means a great deal to us as it recognised how we have developed and most importantly was awarded by the local community in which we live and work. It felt like we had won the lottery. As well as this, Plymouth Bouncy Castles & Plymouth Soft Play moved into bigger offices, a larger storage unit and taking on its first employee's full time. Still wanting to keep Plymouth Bouncy Castle & Plymouth Soft Play close to our hearts and as a family run business in 2016 Steve and Suzanne’s daughter, Amy joined the team full time (after many years of growing up in the environment) and has bought her youthful imagination and ideas with her pride in our service, equipment and customer care. We are proud of the company we have created and this only comes from being happy in our work, job satisfaction and making sure that the events we cover from birthday parties to large events, for the thousands who attend, are fun, safe and memorable. During 2018 Ronnie, Becky & Family took ownership with a relocation to the West Midlands to centralise the business and move it forward.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Add to Event has been amazing for us with a relocation we have had to grow our client base and it works well for this. One of our first clients on Add to Event was a local church, they required a few inflatables to hold their community fun day. Since then we have done two to date and they've booked more. We couldn't have done this job without add to events.
