What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To provide a comprehensive quote, we need to know the date of the celebration, type of event, venue and disco time duration of your celebration. Obviously the more information the better, so there's no hiccups on the day - i.e. birthday surprise, early equipment set up, mood up-lighting etc. If you're in the early stages of organising a celebration, we can send an estimated cost.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
For events like weddings, anniversaries and adult landmark birthdays, experience is an absolute must as your DJ will be catering for a range of ages and tastes in music and can use his expertise to keep your guests happy. Your DJ should be approachable and helpful, so you are able to work together to achieve what you envisage for your particular party. For most events, your DJ should be confident using a microphone, use high quality equipment, and should carry full Public Liability Insurance.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
We all have to start somewhere. Having started at providing family and neighbours house parties in 1977 with a handful of compilation LPs, it did not take long to before I was being asked to DJ for private events.
From them early years I have been through the decades from the 70s disco, 80s electronic, 90s rave music I have been through it all. I'm still doing what I love today, As a DJ I am very friendly, relaxed and entertaining with extensive knowledge of all popular musical genres and their eras. Whether its a wedding or a birthday you will get our 100% commitment for your occasion. I am experienced and skilful at choosing the right music to play at any particular event and always play your requests promptly. I welcome your playlist, with any music you want me to avoid, and always actively encourage requests from everyone on the night so everyone gets a little of what they fancy! We are unique in what we do and our discos are now video discos. With 21st century technology, why just listen to music when you can see your band or artist via screens? This has become a very popular choice with our clients and creates a great atmosphere, and we don't charge any extra for the privilege.
