What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To provide an accurate quote and a tailor made service I need to know the type of event, the venue and the date of the event. I always like to have an indication of the type of music you would like played, the approximate number of guests in attendance and also an idea of the type of vibe you are looking for - for example 'Formal', 'Laid Back' etc.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would ask them if they are covered by public insurance and if they use (PAT) safety tested equipment. I would ask how many years experience they have of providing this service and whether there have any reviews or recommendations available to view. I would ask for a contract and expect to pay a deposit to secure the service.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I started the business by researching the type of service I would be providing, the equipment I would need, how much it would cost and also found out about the legal responsibilities. I started my business as my passion has always been music, I also enjoy the sense of exhilaration I get at the end of another successful event, knowing that I have done my very best for the customer.
