What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To help us make your special event an easy and stress-free day we need to know the venue postcode and if it has access for our cute little horse trailer to be situated. Ideally, we do need a flat surface for stability. You do not want your pizza topping to be sliding off!!
The estimated amount of guests that are attending is good to know however we also bring along extra so no-one goes hungry.
As we are situated outside if it is always useful to know if there is an electricity point to hook up to. if not we can bring along a small generator.
As we have a chimney this needs to be considered so we are not situated under any low hanging trees and there are no height restrictions barriers for access.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask about where they source their ingredients and if they can accommodate all guests dietary requirements. For example one of our clients was a strict vegetarian and so we were able to source them vegetarian Parmesan without rennet so that they could still enjoy the full flavour and taste of our pizza without missing out.
We also had a guest that could not eat garlic for religious beliefs so we made them a separate tomato base sauce.
Just going that extra mile and tailoring each plate to that individual really makes you stand out.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
The idea of Weirdough Pizza came from many hours thinking about what can I do other than sitting in front of a computer all day and reflecting back on my time living in Sicily. I love cooking for other people and I also love the simplicity of pizza and enjoy how such a small amount of ingredients put together can create such flavour.
Street food is now such an up and coming business and I think people like to see their freshly prepared food being made in front of them and then also watching the cooking process in a hot wood-fired oven in the space of 2 minutes.
The best feeling is getting a compliment about the food you produced you cannot beat it.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I have to say that my favourite events are normally weddings as I love going to different venues and seeing the creative and inspiring ideas that couples can come up with. Plus everyone is on such a good vibe. One particular wedding stood out as the wedding was so simple yet so perfect
We were asked to do the day and evening food for 200 Guests I was a bit apprehensive as we were asked to provide other side dishes as well as pizza such as various salads. We managed to do an amazing job and even the bride's mother came over and complimented our service which was the icing on the cake for us.
I have recommended Add to Event to a client who we could not assist as they manage much larger events such as three-day festivals and they have used various other caterers on this site.
