Wattech, launched in 2008, provide professional sound, lighting, visual and production services throughout the UK from their South Wales unit. They share very detailed and useful advice for anyone wanting to hire a similar supplier.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
All our quotations are built from the ground up with our client's requirements and end goal in mind.
In order to do this, we need to know all the details such as event date, time, location, indoors or outdoors, type of event and how many guests are expected. It also helps if you have a rough budget in mind to achieve your aims. Our industry experienced staff can then custom design your quotation using our industry designed systems.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
We would love you to choose us to help make your event a success but we also understand that we may not fit your requirements. We always recommend the best solution however when choosing your supplier always follow these golden rules.
* Have a budget in mind as this will help all suppliers to know what will fit in with it
* Check the background of the suppliers, are they experienced, how long have they been doing this service, what do others say about the supplier
* Will they supply a contract?
* Are they insured?
* Is their electrical safety tests up to date?
* Do they comply with Health and Safety procedures?

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Wattech started out as a single op mobile disco provided by now company director Nathan Watters at the young age of 9 years old. Over the years Nathan has studied and qualified as a Sound Engineer whilst continuing to grow Wattech. In 2011 Kirsty joined the Wattech team bringing with her a wealth of experience in lighting and visual applications. In September 2017 Wattech became a limited company owned fully by Nathan and Kirsty who also got married in 2011. This now family run business still has a firm belief in "Working with you to provide memories that last" no matter what the event or services provided.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Wattech is always looking for the next challenge and Add to Event helps to deliver this. In 2017 we received a lead to an event in Worcestershire for a festival style event at a school in memory of one of their pupils who had sadly passed away. After speaking with the client we reached an agreement on the budget and services Wattech could provide. Wattech provided a complete production solution with sound, lighting, staging, crewing and power distribution for the whole event. The event was a massive success and is hoped to become an annual event. We always recommend Add to Event to our friends in the industry.
