What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
We need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of event they are hosting, the estimated number of guests, whether it's an indoor or outdoor event, the access for a trailer or built-in cold room. From this, we can use our experience to advise what refrigeration would be best for the function.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask your refrigeration provider about what equipment they are providing, not all trailers are the same size, will the trailer come with shelving and power leads and 13 amp adapters if needed. Ask the provider about who will be delivering your refrigeration ideally you need someone with a good knowledge of the refrigeration unit and experience in towing as often venues can be difficult to access and limited in space when inside the venue.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Barnham trailer & refrigeration Hire was firstly a business just hiring out a car, box, and flatbed trailers. However having worked for a refrigeration firm 20 years ago I knew that I enjoyed the job and was missing going out and delivering to fantastic customers, and fantastic venues, this can be from a festival to the fun of a private wedding. Knowing that you are a small but an essential part of someone's big day is special.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
This is tough to pick out any one of my bookings from add to event, so many fantastic weddings and festivals to choose from. One of the most memorable ones was the film festival in London in a really tight venue having to reverse my trailer through the venue with everyone setting up watching, no room for error in the gaze of Big Ben. Or the buzz of an event in Southampton setting up a big screen for the cricket world cup. I cannot, however, beat the joy of meeting a bride or groom helping to set up for their wedding talking of flowers and champagne, never gets old. I would wholeheartedly recommend Add to Event it is a fantastic platform and so easy to use.
