Hot Tub Hire Guide
Types of Hot Tub
There are a huge variety of hot tubs and spa tubs out there. Not every company stocks all these hot tub varieties, but they usually have a selection of tubs.
Hot Tub and Spa Tub Features
Hot tubs come in all shapes and sizes. Many different things can set them apart.
Heat
LED digital temperature display is available on some spa tubs. Different hot tubs maintain heat to different levels. On the more expensive end, you can rent a hot tub which has settings to adjust the heat and even maintain heating up to 40C. Ask about maintaining the heat of the water when you rent a hot tub.
Steps
While some hot tubs have no steps leading up, others do. If you want steps, ask your supplier.
FAQs
You need to make sure you have the right set-up in your home for the hot tub. Below are key details about hot tub delivery and set-up. If you have any questions about the following, let your supplier know. They will do their best to help.
How do I fill the Hot Tub?
There must be a nearby water supply from an outdoor tap. (If you only have an indoor water supply, let the supplier know in advance).
What power supply do I need?
There must also be a standard 13amp socket for the power source, which can be either indoor or outdoor. Ideally, you should also have a water exit point near the site where you would like the hot tub to be set up. This is so that the water can be pumped out of the tub at the end of your hire time. If your water exit point is a bit further, let the supplier know in advance so they are prepared to pump the water further upon collection.
How many people can you fit in a hot tub
There are a range of different sized models that can fit from 4 to 8 people but most hot tubs on offer will be suitable for 5/6 adults. Please see our information on different types of tubs.
What temperature do hot tubs get to?
Most hot tubs will get up to a temperature of 40 degrees but most people prefer to keep it at between 36 to 38 degrees.
How long will it take to heat up?
Hot tubs can take between 8 and 24 hours to heat up. Bigger tubs in cold weather can require up to 48. If you’re planning to hire a hot tub for a particular event, bear in mind the hot tub may need to be delivered a day or two before the event. A small number of companies offer a hot fill so your hot tub is ready within the hour, but this is usually for inflatable hot tubs only.
What surface do I need?
The hot tub needs to be placed on a flat and secure surface. The size of this surface can vary by tub to tub, so just make sure to ask the supplier how large the surface needs to be if you are unsure you have the space.
Can a hot tub fit through a door?
When it comes to setting up a hot tub in your home, there are two options. Some hot tubs can be assembled on site. If getting a hot tub carried through your home would be a tight squeeze, this is the best option. Ask for a pop-up hot tub. Otherwise, make sure you have a big enough entry point to the site to where your hot tub will be placed. Usually, this needs to be at least 2m high. The width will depend on the size of the tub.
