Janey Briers Celebrates

Hello!

My name is Jane, but my best friends call me Janey Briers.

And I'm a wedding celebrant. What's that I hear you ask?

Well, a wedding celebrant is someone who writes, arranges and performs wedding celebration ceremonies, civil partnership celebration ceremonies and renewal of vows. Unlike registrars, we don't 'do the legal bit', which means we have the luxury of being able to create ceremonies free from legal jargon, written for and entirely tailored to each couple.

That's why I love it so much. People invite me in to their worlds, open their hearts and entrust me with one of the most important days of their lives. Nothing beats the feeling you get when you know that you’ve created and delivered a ceremony that is just right; to see smiles on faces and tears in eyes through words that you have written is just magical.

So, a little bit about me. I'm a warm; approachable; funny; vibrant; kind; open; happy; professional; organised; Northern; down-to-earth; creative; interested; empathetic; glass full to brimming over kind of person who always has a smile on her face.

I love life, people and crafting stories of love. Conversation, camaraderie and human interaction makes the world go round. I love that this job allows me to revel in all three.

I feel extremely lucky to be able to say that people tend to be instantly drawn to me, feel at ease in my presence and as a result open up to me very quickly. I don’t know what it is or what I do to illicit such responses. Train journeys back home to Newcastle; Grannies at bus stops; in the queue for the ladies; even normally grumpy London taxi drivers – you wouldn’t believe the amount of life stories I’ve heard! I have now had the joy of meeting lovely couples who have done exactly the same.

But that's enough about me. From the moment you choose me as your celebrant it will be all about you! I promise to do all I can to make your day absolutely amazing. I hope we get to talk 'you' very soon.
