Roxie's BBQ Spot provide BBQ-themed cuisine throughout Westminster and beyond. With most dishes containing meat and fish freshly selected from their expert suppliers, as well as cooked on charcoal and wood, each item is served with a hand-stretched flatbread and a grilled leaf salad. As well as full meals, Roxie's BBQ Spot also provide small bites and nibbles.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
Once I know the event location, type of event and number of guests I can provide an initial quote for BBQ catering. When that's done we can then open a dialogue to discuss menu wants and needs. I have a few standard options but can offer a range of menus tailored to your taste.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It is important for you to talk with a trader so that you get a feel for their knowledge and interest. A trader that has specific knowledge about BBQing, meat and smoke can be better trusted to provide a meal that will be above expectations. You should also get a good idea of what equipment the trader has and if it will fit your space and suit your needs.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I have worked in kitchens in restaurants for over 10 years. I felt that working this way was too impersonal and the stuffiness of restaurants is something that didn't interest me any further. I wanted to connect with my customers on a different level, able to discuss the food, what I do and why. I decided that street food was the way forward. Sharing my love of BBQing and food at your events feels like a great step forward along this tangent in my career.
