What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For me to provide a comprehensive quote I'll need to know:
- The event date
- The location or locations
- Estimated number of guests
- How long you'd like me to be there for in hours
And it can help to have an idea of style of images you want to have after the event!
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Photographers all have different styles and price points, some love the dark & moody feel, some love the bright and airy vibe. At the end of the day it's important to look at their work to decide if you like the style of image they produce. It's always worth asking if they ever change their style too - you don't want to be surprised by the images if they randomly change their signature!
I would also try to get a feel about how the approach the day - if you're quite easy going then you want a photographer who matches that energy. Same as if you're quite serious, you want the matched energy otherwise you may clash when communicating to get the shots on the day!
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I have loved photography since I studied it at university during my degree over 6 years ago. I kept up with it as a hobby and in the past year have been slowly building my portfolio to turn it into a business as I realised photography is what I enjoy most.
Wedding photography is amazing because I enjoy weddings so much. I truly believe you shouldn't pick your camera up if you're not excited about the day and with weddings I always am! The joy, the love and the emotions of the day are just so real it's impossible not to love capturing them.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I have been booked for one wedding this year through Add to Event so far for May 2024. The lady gave me a call and we talked through all things wedding. I even offered to come down and do a few hours extra should their actual ceremony date move forward.
Hoping for some more soon as there's lots of requests!
