What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order for me to provide a comprehensive quote to somebody looking for my services, I need to see that their heart has gone into what they are looking for. This means providing more than just where the wedding is and what the budget it, I want to know what style of wedding they are having, what kind of film they think they would like, something personal and something telling that they are looking forward to the event. When they give this information I will know whether I am the right videographer from them or not and therefore can commit my own time in crafting a quote for them to consider seriously.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Finding a videographer for your wedding is difficult because you only get one shot. The chemistry has to be right as they are going to be there for some very intimate and hugely important moments. The main way of making sure you find the right videographer is to really show your personality from the offset. By doing this you will attract the right kind of people who will have similar tastes and styles as you, ensuring your wedding film will be everything you dream it will be. It is also important to ask questions you want to, any honest videographer appreciates this as it shows your commitment and that you're excited and thinking about the films to come.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Cliche, but it was alway my dream to work in film. After working in the wedding industry for 6 years as a venue assistant, it suddenly hit me right between the eyes that I can film weddings! It's two industries I love merged together, I get to work with people on the happiest day of their lives and I get to work for myself. Building my own business has been a dream and I have seen sides of myself I didn't know were there and I have had the privilege of working with truly beautiful people.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I am new to Add to Event and really excited to receive my first booking. This was recommended to me by a few friends in my industry and I have watched the success they have had. The site so far had been really easy to use and I love the concept.
