Macdonald Wedding Photography

I am a freelance photographer based in Livingston. I have worked in a variety of areas including, wedding, family lifestyle, sports, and commercial. I like to take time to get to know my clients as this helps ensure I capture the things that are important to them, not me. I understand that even though couples are booking a photographer to cover their wedding day, most do not enjoy having their photograph taken so getting people at ease is a key part of the role. Taking the pictures is the easy bit!

A key element of my approach is not just having an awareness of what is happening in front of the camera at the time but anticipating what is about to happen next. With wedding photography, this means catching the smiles, laughs and tears and those special interactions and reactions that pass in a flash but can create memories that last forever.

In my corporate life before photography, I was a project manager so I am well experienced in dealing with a variety of people and for helping clients plan their day/shoot in advance, and ensuring that things run to plan on the day. Things don't always go to plan of course, and my project experience helps me guide clients through any changes that couples want or need - it's your day, and it's my job to make sure it runs your way!
