Michel's Kitchen

Originally studying cookery in my native France and first working in Paris, I came to London in the 1980s to work with such illustrious names as the Roux Brothers, Alistair Little, and with Simon Hopkinson at Bibendum.

Moving to the West Country in the 90s, I joined Bristol’s Glass Boat as head chef. By 1998 I had become a partner in Byzantium and then went on to build a reputation for quality French bistro cuisine as proprietor of the highly-regarded No.5 restaurant in Bath. I set up the celebrated Bistro La Barrique in Bath and Bristol in 2008 which I ran until 2017.

My services are a private chef, cookery lessons, and mobile catering.
