About Schuggies Ceilidhs
I've borrowed this description of a ceilidh from @CarolineGooseyPhotography who captured a wedding Ceilidh I hosted at a small barn in the Peak District in October 2022. It sums up beautifully how much fun you can have at a ceilidh where I host and call all the dances.
A ceilidh is probably the most inclusive dancefloor you could have
It doesn’t matter how many of them you’ve done before, or if you’ve done none at all.
The person calling the dances tells everyone what they need to do, and keeps it going.
Everyone dances with everyone, whether you know each other or not.
The more people the better!
Everyone gets a go. No one has the chance to bust different moves, and because no one *really* knows what’s going on it’s very difficult to feel self-conscious.
Essentially, most people are just guessing what they’re supposed to be doing, and that makes it brilliant.

My birthday event couldn't be bettered. Brilliant.
From an internet search I believe I got a service that couldn't be bettered. From my first conversation with Schuggie I felt the entertainment was covered. I was to supply the crowd, Schuggie would do the rest. And he did! It really is a show. He's up there with the props, assures you of a running order, ensures you (as the host) gets the right amount of accolades for the evening - I took my bows with such grace.... He has the perfect amount of coaxing to a reluctant dancer and empowers those who physically can't dance with alternatives (the hat dance). I had an absolute blast and am still on a high two days later. Don't doubt your decision for a Ceilidh - just book it.
Great wedding ceilidh
We booked Schuggie for our wedding in June 2022. Communication was great from the outset, always responsive and easy way to book slots. Schuggie was always full of energy and enthusiasm. On the day Schuggie and the band provided great entertainment through the ceilidh as well as playing some cover songs as well. Schuggie adapted the ceilidh so that it suited the number of people and space available. Schuggie arrived earlier so that we could use his speakers and mics for the whole wedding reception. Would definitely recommend! Thanks Schuggie for being a part of our day :)
An exceptionally fun night!!
Schuggie provided a Ceilidh dance experience for entertainment after our club AGM and he was amazing. He got people up dancing who I've never seen leave their seat before. He was fun, kind and extremely polite. We will certainly be having him back after a really fun night. Thank you so much!!

We would recommend Schuggie's Ceilidhs to anyone. Schuggie was brilliant from the first time we spoke to him and continued to communicate with us in the run up to our wedding. On the day he went above and beyond to help everything run smoothly. The music from the Big Moose Ceilidh band was fantastic and having the hats for our guests to wear was a brilliant additional touch. So many of our guests who hadn't ever been to a Ceilidh before absolutely loved it. Thanks for such a great time Schuggie!
