A Professional Toastmaster and Master of Ceremonies specialising in weddings of all types – civil, religious, or humanist.

No person or organisation does 'Ceremony' quite like 'The Guards' and after a 14 year career in The Scots Guards the word ceremony is ingrained in my DNA. Couple that with almost 50 years bagpiping experience alongside a number of years spent managing functions and events in the officers mess, often hosting royalty and other VIP's, and you are provided with the consummate professional.

Unobtrusive, well versed in all forms of etiquette and protocol, I am always on hand to deal with any issues or hiccups that may arise leaving the happy couple the freedom and confidence to relax, mingle with their guests and enjoy their big day.

Many venues tell you that they provide a master of ceremonies within their packages. At most venues of course you don’t actually get a free Master of Ceremonies, what you get is a member of staff (usually the Duty Manager) who is tasked with making your announcements – also whilst ensuring food service is on time, the bar is running properly and several other jobs. This means that they are not fully focused on you – the happy couple – especially in a busy hotel where they might be the only manager on duty.
That’s where I step in. As the Happy Couples’ personal assistant for the day my role is to ensure that everything goes according to their plans allowing them to relax and mingle with their guests safe in the knowledge that their day is being steered and guided according to their wishes.

Awards
In 2015 I won the Scottish Vows Awards - the only piper and Master of Ceremonies to have done so, was a finalist in the 2016 and 2017 awards. Nominated and voted for by my clients - so you can be sure of an excellent level of service from me - unfortunately they dropped my category in recent years.
