What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
We would need to know the date, time, location, how many guests, the number of special diets - is critical information, what your event is celebrating is equally as helpful as this gives us a feel for the occasion and I like to add a personal touch that blends into the event where possible. Indoor or outdoor and whether the venue has a kitchen is useful to know as this determines the food choices we can deliver in. If electric is available most things are possible.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Trust is important, so I like to provide a pre-meet up service to give assurance of who you are having to make your food, I believe level of service and attention to detail is just as important as the food served. Experience is necessary of course but enthusiasm and passion for food and delivering appetising food more so. Home made food, traditional but with a modern edge is also appreciated rather than bulk supply catering from wholesalers!
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Having run my own Tea Room for 3 years, I hosted many parties for local guests at my location and really enjoyed dealing with food on a larger scale, producing a variety of really tasty food and presenting it nicely resulting in happy guests always complimenting the 'good spread' we had put on.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
My pre-booking meet ups are really appreciated and the samples I have left so far are very well received and there have been lots of event bookings for weddings buffets a year ahead so I am looking forward to keeping in touch with all of them as promised and fulfilling my service promise.
