What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To provide a comprehensive quote, the first thing we need the date and the proposed timings for the event so we can check availability. From there, the venue and any other details available such as whether it's indoor or outdoor. The number of guests is also important as this affects the audio equipment that we bring along.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
A little bit of research goes a long way! Check their reviews out, but also be sure to visit their website and social media platforms to ensure that their knowledge and experience is current, that they're playing regularly and that they have experience in the type of event you are holding. DJ's vary greatly and by checking out some pictures and videos you can ensure that they can work well for you.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Having been a professional bar and club DJ for many years, both in the UK and overseas, I made the move to a private events DJ 6 years ago to enable me to work more closely with my customers in designing the perfect playlist for every event, to get a feeling of immense satisfaction at the end of a perfect wedding or party and, of course, to visit some great locations! I love music - people - and parties.... this is my perfect job and I look forward to every single booking.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
It would be so hard to choose as Add to Event has proved to be a seamless way of matching potential customers with the service I provide. Although every event is different, last week I had a 'first' in doing my first ever Chinese wedding. It was a lovely challenge to tailor my music for the ceremony and to see such a lovely event unfold. What works well with Add to Event is the message section at the bottom of the form.
