K'DIVA is a mobile creative makeup artist and face painter whose objective is to unleash the inner diva in us all! They just love all making their clients smile and want to bring fun to your next event! Here they share some of their insights on key information to ask when booking a supplier.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To be able to provide an accurate quote and provide the best service, a customer needs to provide as much information as possible. Information such as party date, time, age group, private or community function and also if it’s indoors or outdoors is invaluable! Other nice-to-have information would be to let me know if there is any parking available at/ near the party venue.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
For someone looking to hire a provider, it is good to actually check out photos of their work to see if their style actually meets with your requirements... each artist has a different style! Once a customer has decided that they like the look of a providers work, they should check to see if they have the right paperwork. ie. insurance, DBS, etc
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Building on K’Diva’s love for anything glitzy and glamorous, whilst on maternity leave, she decided to retrain in as many aspects of makeup artistry as she could.
She has studied at various London FE colleges where she qualified in Makeup artistry, Henna application, Threading, Face painting, Glitter tattooing, Eyelash application and Special Effects. K’Diva has a soft spot for children, probably because she has a small child of her own... and finds nothing is more satisfying than seeing a child smile after having their face made over!
K’Diva is a freelance creative makeup artist and is passionate about making children and adults feel like they can “unleash their inner diva’s” by transforming them into anything they want to be, even just for a few hours! The more creative, the better... K’Diva loves the challenge!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I have been lucky enough to have been selected for several really great and different bookings via Add to Event! A great one that comes to mind, was during last summer, for a corporate company who was running a family fun day in the middle of Greenwich. I made sure I pulled out all the stops and had every shade of paint and glitter to hand. Over 250 people attended, many of which swung by my stand to get their faces painted, glittered and bedazzled! In the summer sun, they looked amazing!
I would and have recommended addtoevent to fellow artist and to clients (when I am unfortunately unable to fulfil a booking for them). Add to Event is a great one-stop shop for those hosting an event!
