What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order to provide you with an accurate quote I need to know 4 basic things: Where is the event? When is the event? What time is the event (including duration)? How many guests do you expect will require my services? These pieces of information will ensure I can give you the most suitable quote and advice to fit your requirements.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure the provider you choose knows their stuff! Check out their photos (and look for any discrepancies in case the work is not their own!), read their write up fully and ask them questions if there is anything you are unsure of! Is your provider insured? Do they carry the correct (and safe) equipment to do the job? Are you looking for the best in the area or will a less experienced vendor fit your needs? Once you know what it is you're looking for, it becomes easier to find someone who fits your needs.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I first started Face Painting back in 2010 as a hobby! It actually started out as a bit of a dare: one of my friends bet me that I wouldn't show up to her sons birthday party as a clown, and, never one to back out of a good time, I turned up in full clown outfit with a box of basic paints to boot! When I first began I only painted my own children and friends/family. It wasn't until years later, in 2014 when I decided to go into business for myself. I waited until I had built up a more professional kit, and until my skills were good enough to charge the public for, and I just went for it! Since then my business has grown from strength to strength. I'm always finding new ways to improve my art. I work with The Face Painting Shop in Essex to produce tutorials which are seen by other artists all over the world. I am also heavily involved in the award winning Dupe Magazine. Now, I teach other people how to face paint, alongside my usual weekend bookings!

Although I am new to Add to Event, I'm impressed with the efficiency of the booking process! The range of different types of event requests are fantastic, which keeps my job interesting! For example I have had requests for large festivals and recently worked at a small house party! Regardless of big, or small, I enjoy every job that I receive!
