What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
From potential customers, we would need to ideally know what type of event it is, the date/time, the location and the number of expected guests. If there are any special dietary requirements. Whether you are paying for your guests or will they be paying for themselves.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When you are looking for an ice cream van have a look at their profile page, their reviews and social media accounts. This will show you how serious they take their company and want to show off their menu! Ask if they use fresh whippy mix or UHT ice cream mix. Fresh mix has a superior taste and is much more fluffy! Whether they are registered with their local authority and what their food hygiene rating is, this will tell you how well they manage food hygiene, cleanliness and condition of the van/equipment and management of food safety (such as monitoring freezer temperatures, use-by dates, etc).
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Amber-Belle Ices is named after my two daughters. They both love ice cream and desserts. I wanted to start my business to work around my family life better. I used to love getting a whippy ice cream when I was young and wanted to give the current generation a snippet of what it was like back in the 80s/90s.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We would highly recommend Add to Event to others. Firstly, for customers to find a business for their events and secondly, for businesses to expand their profile and secure events. We have had many bookings from Add to Event (with some customers using us multiple times) for weddings, charity events, parties and corporate events. One we thoroughly enjoyed was a care home wanting to treat their residents to 99's on a bank holiday. The residents thoroughly enjoyed their whippy ice cream and many had not had one for decades. One elderly lady said it was like having a part of her childhood back, which brought a smile to my face and a tear!
