What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide an accurate quote, we would need a location, date, time of service, set up and pack down times if electricity is provided. We would need to know if free parking is available and if they'd require an indoor or outdoor setup. The client can also let us know of any special requirements for decor, uniform, diet (gluten free etc).
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask lots of questions about what exactly they are getting for their money including times of service, staff etc.
Prices reflect the quality of the products the vendor are using. At Wafflestick we offer luxury warm Belgian chocolate, no artificial flavours, therefore our prices will vary.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
We are two childhood friends with a love for all things sweet, we both wanted to start a business and came across the machines whilst on social media. We began with no background in food/hospitality, but managed to get everything together within 3 months and booked our first event. We wanted to bring something fun and different to street food, and offer more than the standard few items that street food vendors usually offer, so we created a build your own concept where we could offer more than 10 toppings. The customer could then create any combo they wanted, so everyone has something to their taste and could try a different combo each time they visit us.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We booked an event at a school, and have been booked for a wedding- everything went smoothly and we made over 200 waffles. The kids were all happy, and the adults turned into kids with all the topping choices. I'd highly recommend Add to Event for vendors and clients alike, there is something for everyone and it has given us the opportunity to take control by responding to events that fit us too. Perfect!
