What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
A Photographer/Videographer needs certain basic key elements from the Organiser. These are.. Date and start time...Total attendance time/s...Photos or Video or both....location of Ceremony and Reception...No of Guests expected at both events...The Hardware choices they wish included in the quote ( CD/DVD/PhotoBook/Album/Highlights Video to music/USB Memstick).
Unless these basic necessary elements are detailed the provider cannot provide an accurate price.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
To view their past work via a website and Youtube ... and in particular to read several of their Past Reviews.
It is important that a B&G have confidence in their providers' ability, so an IntroMeet is also recommended so that the provider can give a brief presentation to the B&G prior to placing their order with them...It is important to 'Like' the provider.
Try to obtain a 'fixed price' from the provider - with a detailed list of provision elements.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
George Baird Photography commenced Wedding Work many years ago in the age of B&W and 35mm and blackout development of the film. Photography was always a love, but placed on the 'back burner' whilst a career in Engineering became the secure financial focus. Early retirement enabled a new focus to be placed on a past more casual but continuing practical interest in Wedding Photography/Videography.
Wedding Photographs/Videos are arguably 'the most important treasured keepsakes from the day'.
It is important that these hardware memories be special and an experienced provider is a key component of a successful day.

George Baird Photography was successful in bidding (through Add To Event) for the recent Wedding of Conor & Georgia Sharkey on Saturday 20th May 2023. The Ceremony was in Coventry Register Office, the Reception was in Walsall in a Large Marquee, a 35 min drive away. The entire day was a success, with delightful guests & children and some super private shots of the B&G. Add to Event has successfully provided us with many leads.
