What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

With us, it is pretty simple really. We do need to know some basic information from you about your event. We need the date, time and location to start. We would then need to know what you the event type and the total number of expected guests (this give us an idea of team size we need). Finally, we need to know the photography and/or videography budget (it’s no good us sending you a quote that is well out of your budget, either way, this lets us gauge what service finishes we can offer in our quote).

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The main thing you need to look at when hiring a photographer and/or videographer is their previous work. Does it look good? Is it better then you expected? Does it look out of place or like it could be someone else’s? Next ask them what their experience level is, how long they have been doing this job and do they have qualifications? I have worked over 15 years to get my photography to the level of “Master Craftsman” it takes time, and with time comes experience and quality.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

So I have had a passion for taking pictures ever since I first saw my grandpa’s old Leica. He created some truly amazing images with it and I was in awe. I then studied digital media in college and although I went down the film/tv route, photography was always a true love of mine. After many years of training and getting my skills honed in, I started my own business doing what I was truly passionate about, capturing moments in time. I qualified as a master photographer and have been having the best time of my life ever since.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have not been on Add to Event for very long but I am truly impressed with what the platform offers. I have booked several clients successfully and have loved how the platform works. My last client was an events company needing a photographer for a charity gala. I took an assistant and shot the whole night. It was in a beautiful Manor House in Essex and the whole night was a lot of fun. We had a couple of hiccups with the power supply from the venue but nothing that we could not fix nearly instantly. The gala was a success and raised thousands of pound for a children’s charity, we loved being part of this and we even ended us offering a free photoshoot as a prize in their raffle. I often tell people about Add to Event and even the assistant I took along has now signed up and is getting jobs on the platform.
