The categories of cookie Add to Event uses, the third parties involved, and how to manage them.

“The platform” refers to the website that you are currently using (addtoevent.co.uk) and any micro-sites operated by Add to Event Ltd unless expressly excluded by their own terms and conditions.

We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies across the platform. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the Site Visitor’s hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies can be removed by following Internet browser help file directions (see below). With session cookies, we are able to ensure that only people who have entered correct login details are able to use password-protected areas and only areas that they are authorised to use. Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analytics service used by many organisations. It allows us to recognise the areas of the website that visitors are engaging with, how they are navigating around the site as well as limited anonymous information about the audience of the site, including demographic and interest information. This allows us to make decisions about how to construct and structure the content of the website - allowing visitors to find what they're looking for easily. Google provide details of what information Google Analytics collects and their privacy policies on the Google Analytics website. Users can choose not to submit certain information by opting-out.

Hotjar

The platform uses Hotjar - an analytics and feedback tool which helps us to improve the usability of the platform. Hotjar sets persistent cookies (up to 365 days) for analytics purposes and to display the correct content to visitors. You can read about what cookies are stored by visiting Hotjar's website. Hotjar also records visitor information including mouse clicks and movements, scrolling activity and user input on the platform (for example in the search box) - this information is anonymous. Recordings are automatically destroyed after 365 days. You can opt out of Hotjar collecting your information at any time by following these instructions.

AddThis

Allows you to share our content over a variety of social networks, including Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus. AddThis has its own privacy policy and collects no personally identifiable data on your visit to the site. To opt out of AddThis setting cookies, please visit their website.

Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter

We also use Cookies provided by Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. These Cookies operate in different ways but they are all used in connection with Add to Event advertising served to a user of the Add to Event platform on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook, the recognition of such users and the devices used by the user to access Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and the Add to Event platform. Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn Pixels:

These Cookies are placed by Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. They enable Add to Event to measure, optimise and build audiences for advertising campaigns served on the platforms. In particular it enables Add to Event to see how our users move between devices when accessing the Add to Event website and Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, to ensure that Add to Event’s advertising is seen by our users most likely to be interested in such advertising by analysing which content a user has viewed and interacted with on the Add to Event platform.
