What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

The more information that you can give us, the better we are able to give you an accurate price & possibly help advise you on other items like power or safety issues that you hadn't quite considered? The minimum of information we need is some detail on the type of event you are hosting, a date and a venue (or information on the type of venue you'll be aiming for).

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

We would only ever deal with suppliers that have experience in working on relevant projects - both in size & type. Wherever possible we always try to deal with people that are using their own stock equipment - none of this "I've borrowed this from a mate and it doesn't work like mine". Anyone can just dry hire AV equipment in and pretend - that's why we have over £125,000 worth of equipment in stock so we know that we can rely on it when we need to - especially when an event comes in at the last minute!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Mosaic FX Productions started back in 1998 mainly to provide lighting and special effects for live band
performances etc. Over the years we have been asked to provide all sorts of add on extras, for example as we are very often the largest user of power on site we are frequently asked if we can supply and look after the generators for the host and peer up the beer tent as well as all of the traders! For 10 years we looked after all of the power at the official Silverstone campsite with over 18,000 on site. We have also worked at some of the biggest live music festivals such as V, T in the Park & Rewind - to name just a few. Our AV division gets to work on lots of food festivals and car launches as well - we recently toured the UK with the latest Aston Martin Vanquish !

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Where to start? From raised stages for wedding top tables and charity presentation events to some stunning lighting in a back garden party marquee - the list goes on. We love Add to Event as we never know what sort of enquiry we are going to get in next and we get a real buzz out of knowing that we have helped someone's big event be that extra bit special!
