What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive and accurate quote to a customer there are various things we need to know. We need to know the event date and location, to ensure our availability we need to consider not only the time of the event, but also the travel time to the event. We need to know the estimated number of children and event duration. For balloon modelling, the number of minutes we have for each balloon lets us know whether to use simple or more complex designs. We also need the ages of the children, so we can establish what designs would be appropriate for the age group. If you let us know a theme for your event, we will be able to work this in as well. We have a variety of costumes, some are more suited to indoor use and some to outdoor use, so please also let us know whether the event will be an indoor or an outdoor one.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When looking to hire someone in the children's entertainment and party industry, always check to ensure that they have insurance. It's also worth considering their experience too, a more experienced children's entertainer or balloon modeller is likely to be a better one, but also likely to be more expensive! Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Corsie Balloons started when my children started school. My previous job had an early start and lots of business trips. I would not be able to take my children to school and I could no longer send them on wee holidays to Grannies house. I needed a new job that I could better fit around my family. I'd learned to balloon model at University and was doing more now my children could enjoy it. I had started being asked to balloon model for our nursery, toddler group and NCT events, so I had some experience under my belt. I was also loving it! It was the obvious solution. So as my daughter started school, I left work and started Corsie Balloons!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

My most memorable booking through this platform was balloon modelling for the Dundee United Supporters Club. I was booked to make balloons during their lunch stop while they were on their way to Hampden for the 2015 League Cup Final. The atmosphere was amazing, I was entertained by their singing throughout and better yet it all ran to time like clockwork! I'm only sad that the result didn't go their way.
