What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To allow us to provide the most accurate quote to our customers we require a few things:
The date of the event and the venue or area are extremely important as they allow us to account for any additional travel costs, or potentially offer a discount on certain dates (such as midweek or out of season). As we offer a number of packages it also helps to get a general idea of what the customer is looking for, whether they are looking for daytime or evening performances or if they require DJ services or not. Our packages cover the most common scenarios, so once we have these few pieces of information, we can then provide an accurate and quick quote.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

You need to love the band you book ... Now, this doesn't mean we need you to take us out on a date. But it does mean you need to be completely sold on the band you decide to have at your event. Music is one of the most important parts of any celebration, whether its weddings or birthday parties. If the music isn't right, the vibe won't be right.
Make sure the band you're booking are not only professionals but they are the kind of people you want to be around on your big day.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Lazy Marmalade are two best friends (Alex & Jon) that have been playing music together since we were teenagers. What started as a pub band quickly grew into a successful business focused mainly within the wedding and function world. Through a genuine love for performing and being a part of some incredible events, we have built a reputation for being one of the most exciting and reliable acoustic wedding duos in the UK.
What started as a bit of fun has now become a professional business with the perfect blend of party and professionalism, whilst always ensuring the fun.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We're brand new to Add to Event and due to Covid putting live music on hold this year, we're yet to perform at any events from this platform. But, when we get back to it, I'm sure there will be some incredible events to look forward to.
But, so far, the coolest performance we've ever played would probably be playing underneath a Concorde, or potentially playing alongside Scouting for Girls at a 50th birthday party. Now if anybody wants to book us through this platform to perform on a Concorde with Scouting for Girls, you might just take the title.
