What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To provide a great value for money quote, the following details are required.
Which Hair / Make-up / Beauty / Nail services are required for;
Bride?
Adult female bridesmaids?
Flowergirls/ young bridesmaids?
MOTB/G?
Other female guests?
Groom?
Other male guests?
Images of hair and approximate makeup styles for bride and bridesmaids.
Date, location, time bride and bmaids must be ready.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I like to recommend that brides ask about what is included in their make up trial as standard. Are skin treatments and an eyebrow shape included?
Ask to see previous work of before and after shots that are completely unedited and a portfolio if possible.
Ask what brands they use and how they would deal with any issues they may have.
If the wedding is in daylight the makeup really should be done in daylight to avoid looking a different colour once outside.
Really it comes down to the trial and how well an artist can understand, deliver and recommend necessary adjustments to make the bride look stunning but still fairly naturally made up, with incredible eyes perhaps. Many grooms complain they don't recognise their bride and that should never occur.

I've been a celebrity, fashion and beauty hair & make-up artist since 2000. Bridal hair and make-up is one of the most relaxing and enjoyable aspects of the job and making up people who may never have had professional make-up before can be really lovely when you make their beauty dreams come true and witness their delight.
