What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
All we need to give an accurate quote is how many guests are expected to attend the event, the location, the date and time, the length of time serving the guests, If electricity is available, If the crepes are to be sweet, savoury or both and how many crepes per guest.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask if the mix is made up from scratch. Some vendors use powdered mix which you just add water to. Crepes made this way are no where near as good as made up from basic ingredients.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Mojo started life off in 2014 as a creperie in Broughty Ferry beside Dundee by myself, Beren. I only realised after opening how important location is! The creperie was popular with the regulars but as we were at the quieter end of town, we found it difficult to get enough passing trade. I tried doing some catering for events in Dundee which went very well. Since then I've closed the cafe, built a trailer and moved to Peebles. I now do a lot of events in Edinburgh and really enjoy the buzz and the happy, fast paced vibe street food and events have to offer.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We did an event for the Glasgow Merchant City Festival which was a great event over two days. It was very well organised by the council and we will be back there next year. Glasgow is full of amazing characters. Add to Event has been an awesome source of leads for us and we will definitely keep using it to find new business.
