What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When you are looking to book a face painter or body artist, it's always best to make sure the person you are hiring has insurance and uses quality products. Some artists charge extra for bling (3D embellishments that are glued to the skin using cosmetic glue), so it's best to check that everything is included. At Colourful Faces everything is included in our quote so you can be sure of no hidden extras. Lastly don't be afraid to ask for examples of the artist's work and to ask how long they have been painting faces/bodies for and even to ask for a reference or two.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I started face painting as I loved make up and wanted to become a make up artist. It helped me to get through college and university and also helped me to get a career as a creature effects artist which I have also been doing since 2002. As my career took off I wasn't able to face paint alongside the film industry so I took a hiatus and I am now coming back to face painting as it's such a fantastic job. I have been very lucky to have worked on such great projects as In The Night Garden, Harry Potter, Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy, Justice League and Star Wars.

I truly love painting faces and seeing my customer's faces light up at the big reveal! I'm so pleased to be able to paint again and I hope I can make your event extra special.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have only recently joined Add to Event but I got a booking almost straight away through the website! I was hesitant at first to join but I can now see that it's going to be a great way to find new customers who are looking for fantastic suppliers.
