Sparkle and Twist are able to face paint any designs, preferences or suggestions that clients have or they can party with balloon modelling as well. Here they share how they were featured in the local paper and what sort of information to ask when booking a provider for an event.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

If you provide as much information as possible we can give you an accurate quote which is tailored to your requirements. This includes the event date, location and type, whether it is indoors or outside if it has a set theme, number of guests including an approximate age of your guests. We want to be able to give you a personalized service.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Don't go with the first face painter you search for or the cheapest. Get a selection of providers so you can find an average price and can compare this against the quality of the work. Find out: Are they insured? How many faces can they paint in an hour? Can they paint to a theme if needed? Check out their work especially the pictures which are on the job work, not showpieces.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Sparkle and twist face painting was launched after friends encouraged me to make balloons professionally. I was able to apply my training in fine art to face painting. Sparkle and Twist Face Painting launched in October 2014 and has developed each year adding new services and clients.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I've had quite a few jobs from Add to Event. There is always such a wide variety of bookings available. I worked twice for a company who had redeveloped an existing convenience shop. I was there to welcome the local community back on their official reopening day. It was lovely face painting and balloon twisting for the kids while their parents had a look round the new store and I got pictures of my work in the local paper. All my friends use this service too to the point we tell each other if something comes up I think they might be able to do.
