For us to provide a comprehensive quote, ideally we need the event date and time, a brief explanation of the type of event, the estimated number of guests, age range of guests, whether it's indoors or outdoors and the location. From this we can use our experience to give you some options that show how many guests we can paint within different time slots, so you can choose what works best with your budget and make sure your guests aren't waiting around for too long!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

There's a lot more to face painting than meets the eye, so it's worth bearing that in mind when requesting a quote. A professional face painter will be able to tell you realistically how many faces they can paint, have a wide variety of designs and a clean well-organised kit. If you have more guests than they can comfortably do in the time allowed, asking for something small on the cheek doesn't mean it'll be quicker and you'll fit more in - a good face painter will be able to pare down designs to make things quicker while still keeping the quality intact. Remember every face paint is advertising for their business, so it's not good advertising if it's not good quality!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I fell in love with face painting 9 years ago. It started with a little Snazaroo kit, painting my son and daughter, but it soon became my obsession when I discovered artists from all over the world. It became my hobby, I started doing parties for friends and then teamed up with another local face painter with paid work.
Fast forward seven years and I launched The Oxford Face Painter and left my role as a marketing manager to focus on my dream. Providing exceptional face painting with friendly, reliable service is my main aim. I want your guests big or small to feel special, and that first look in the mirror usually says it all!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I recently had a booking with John Lewis Oxford as part of their family members weekend. It was fabulous. It was great that the events manager was able to source a local business through Add to Event.
