What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide a comprehensive quote, potential clients would need to supply a date, time and potential venue, what theme if any, the maximum number of guests expected, whether it is an indoor or outdoor venue and a bit of information on the type of event that is being hosted. With this information, I can put together the best-suited equipment and designs for the event.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask the provider what services they offer. Not all face painters do balloon modelling and not all entertainers face paint. It is important to see what type of work a provider can produce. Ask for samples. Not all face painters have a chance to take photos at events so asking for samples allows the provider to show you what they are capable of.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

The Colour Junkie was born out of my love for art and painting. I am a self taught artist who has been painting and selling my own art for 20 years. When my children began school I started getting asked to paint faces at friends parties and school fairs.
I have always been passionate about my art and using it to make people smile so it was no surprise that I was hooked on face painting. Adding glitter and painted designs to guests at an event and seeing the smiles and laughter is what makes my job amazing.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I am new to this platform and in the first 2 weeks, I have had 2 bookings. I am very excited. The booking date has not arrived yet so I can't say how it went. So far I have experienced great communication with both clients. The event dates are approaching and I am sure they will be great. I am looking forward to many more bookings.
