For us to provide an accurate quote to a customer, we need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of event and an estimated number of guests, so we can advise on the number of artists required.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly we would advise to check out the quality of artwork in their area. Also, take a look at potential providers social media pages - do they have any pictures of their setup? Don't be afraid to ask for their hygiene practices and if they using safe products. Also, make sure the face painter you're hiring is fully insured for your peace of mind.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

The Fancy Fairy was started up when I realised I could use my passion for art to bring smiles to children and adults alike. It first started when I painted my own children and posted the pictures to my social media. Friends and family were wowed, and encouraged me to take face painting up as a hobby. I researched safe practices and quickly learned which products were best for safety and colour pigmentation to bring the best designs to life in the safest possible way. After a short time, I was noticed by other artists who encouraged and guided me in setting up my business and doing a job that I love!! We now attend all types of events from small, intimate parties to huge festivals where we gather teams of artists offering lots of services. Our customer focus is core to our business and we will try to accommodate any event or theme that is required.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I would definitely recommend Add to Event to others. If I had to choose one booking, it would be a festival wedding that we attended. Being asked to provide a service at such a special event is always an honor, but this wedding was extra special. We were situated outside in lovely grounds with breath-taking views, the guests were all amazing and we painted lots of unique designs at their request. The venue, the bride, the guests...in fact everything about it was beautiful and it was a real honor to attend. I network lots on social media and also mentor new and experienced artists in need of a bit of guidance and always recommend Add to Event to them.
