What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide you with an all inclusive quote you would the date of your event, a quick run through of the event, estimated guest numbers, venue location, food type requested and any dietary requirements or special requests from yourself. We will get back to you with a quote, an inventory of our procedures, copy of the menus and any promotional material, suggest any additional edits or extras and go from there.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would always recommend having a look at the company online, have they got a professional website? A landline phone number, mailing address, reviews and social media presence. I would look to see if they are a member of N.C.A.S.S, that their premises has a good hygiene rating. Ask about the menu and procedures to see that they know their stuff. We are members of N.C.A.S.S, we have a new website, a 5 star rated kitchen, a landline and fixed address, an online presence and we are always happy to discuss menus and procedures for events.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Ma&Pa Larkin first opened in 1995 and has been trading for 23 years! We took over the business in 2015 and have been expanding ever since. I had a vision of what I wanted this company to be, and this year it is all coming together. We have snack rounds out on the road 5 days a week, static canteens pitched up long term on work sites, mobile catering at events and festivals across the U.K, corporate hospitality and celebration catering from our purpose built kitchen. Building the business has been hectic but I can honestly say I love every minute of it.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I was unsure about the Add to Event website and the first event we catered for however, I can now say I visit the site daily and have complete confidence in the professionalism of the staff and the quality of their customers. Our first event was an open day in Reading, around 500 guests, everything went as planned, the organiser was very helpful, the guests were happy and well fed. We were able to promote ourselves and have since gained work from guests attending that event. I would highly recommend Add to Event for any catering company.
