What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide an accurate quote to a customer, we require the following information; event date, type of event hosted, venue location or area, number of guests and whether the venue has on-site parking for unloading and loading. Having this information will help us with putting together suitable equipment and will make the quote process quicker and more efficient.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
There is nothing wrong with asking questions especially if you want to get the best out of your event so you could ask the provider what they are offering or test out their knowledge by asking basic questions, for example, see what their music choices would be for a typical party. Ask the provider about their equipment, maybe they’re offering a low rate, but that could mean they are using budget speakers or equipment. Finally, you ask them how the business started, after all, sometimes a well-established business is a safer bet than someone who started last month.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Rubix Events started in 2012, bringing heaps of knowledge from its previous sister company G&S Discos. I started the company because I had a passion for events and liked to bring the client's party alive. I noticed a hole in the market for a one-stop events shop, where smaller corporate companies were being left behind, after all, why can’t you have the latest DJ, dance floor or photo booth even as a small business. As part of creating the events company, we not only wanted to put our customer focus first but also wanted to provide bespoke, in house products that no other events company had.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We've had a lot of clients through Add to Event in a short space of time! If we had to pick one out, it would have to be the wedding in Bickley. The client and her husband were lovely; they gave us a great playlist but also allowed us to play what we thought works best. The floor was full for most of the night as people danced until they dropped. We loved how interactive the guests were by coming up and asking for requests. The client was so pleased that they are going to book us again for another party next year! We always recommend Add to Event when fully booked as it's not only easy to use but a great way to find the perfect company for any event.
