What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For the Hello Gorgeous team to cater to the needs of an event organiser we need to know the date of the proposed event, location, venue type, number of guests they wish to invite and any dietary requirements that we need to be aware of and then we can begin to build a personalised quote and offer a standard menu to start with. We work with the event organiser to ensure they have the extra Gorgeousness they need for their catering requirements. We always keep in mind that every event is unique and special to the end customer and the guests and that we are there to enhance their experience.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Our advice when looking for a caterer is to ask what prior experience do they have and how can that help with giving advice to the customer who is inquiring about their services. Ask the caterer what their menus are and why they offer the items on the menu and what is a typical customer or event that they usually cater for. When enquiring about pizza making ask what kind of oven is used as they all produce different results - for example, gas, wood-fired or electric. It is always good to think about your venue space in advance and how the caterer can accommodate that.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
We started this business as we have always been into producing pizza as a family to the highest standard possible and wanted to have a healthy recipe that everyone can enjoy which is why our dough is made with low salt, low sat-fat and natural sugars. We also wanted to create an authentic traditional Neapolitan style pizza with the best ingredients that the whole family will absolutely love. We believe in keeping our pizzas simple so that children and adults get to enjoy Gorgeous pizza together.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
That is a tough one to answer as we have had the pleasure of so many varied and lovely events! We catered for a stag do in Gloucestershire and it was at a lovely holiday home and the party were very hungry so we delivered our menu asap and then they asked us to help them get into the local town as this location was not accessible for a taxi - we taxied them in two groups and they were a really nice party who then carried on their celebration! We also catered for a joint 30th birthday party at a beautiful farm in Shropshire and the guest had a number of dietary requirements including nut-free, gluten-free, vegan & vegetarian! It required very careful panning but we pulled it off and the customer was very appreciative of the care we went and the attention to detail.
