What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

Every event is different, and our service is tailor made for each client - so the more information you can give us, the better. We'd love to know your ideal style of service - whether you want something very formal or informal, whether you want us to provide a 'whole package' for your day or whether we would be one of a number of suppliers working together to achieve your ideal event. We really appreciate you sharing your ideal budget with us, so we can prepare a quote that is more realistic and will be of more use to you. We would also appreciate knowing at what stage you are with your planning.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly and most importantly, check their food hygiene rating. Every food business must be registered with their local authority and should tell you their food hygiene rating, but it's always best to check for yourself. Secondly ask them how many similar events they have catered previously - you need someone experienced. Ask who they have worked with, as many caterers will work with corporate clients, so a household name or two will always help you feel safe and secure. Don't be afraid of asking for a reference, maybe ask to speak to someone who they have worked with in the past for a review of their service. Finally, especially for weddings and bookings a long way in advance, do ask how they protect your deposit in the event of something going wrong - you don't want to lose your caterer and your money!

Fresh Food Events was born from a passion for excellence and a determination to bring bespoke catering to those who want it at a sensible price. We use fresh produce, locally sourced wherever possible, and offer a friendly, professional service which is styled to your requirements. We passionately believe each event is unique, which is why we never force you into a package - every booking is different, and that's just how we like it.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

From a wedding with a Deep South menu in a comedy club, to a very laid back and casual wedding in a barn in the Black Mountains, we've had some great bookings through Add to Event. Every one is different, but we love meeting great people and love making each event special. One of our most memorable bookings was catering for a week long series of large concerts at a local castle - we provided the artist and crew catering for the likes of Jason Donovan, Tony Hadley, Ocean Colour Scene, Only Men Aloud, Human League, Louisa Johnson and Little Mix. On the 'Little Mix' day, we sent out over 450 meals, having hot food available from 7am until 10pm, in two separate locations both remote from our own kitchen. That was quite a day, and it's cool to be able to say that Lesley was personal chef to Little Mix!
