What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

Firstly, we need to know what the client wants from our huge range of products, then we need the event date and location so we can check availability and provide a quote for delivery. Other information, such as specific timings and access restrictions, is helpful for some events. If the client is working to a budget then providing us with the amount you're looking to spend can also help us tailor a package to suit.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask the provider about anything you're unsure of; a genuine provider would be happy to help with any queries you might have (no matter how small). Check how much you need to pay as a deposit and if you get a booking agreement (for example, ours is 20% and you receive a full signed agreement). Be wary of those that don't issue agreements or charge deposits. If you can't find much information about them online, don't be worried about asking for previous event photos or reviews too - if they have a Facebook page, check that out. Finally, make sure they are allowed to provide their service at your venue; lots of venues ask for PLI and PAT documents and if your supplier hasn't got these then you're going to have problems along the way.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Eventech UK was formed in May 2012 after I'd spent a few years being an event DJ. I've always had a passion for providing the best service possible and nothing makes me happier than seeing my clients and guests all enjoying the day/event. We started off as a basic event hire company but soon grew into a full event production company, offering a huge range of services for all types of events nationwide.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We've had some very successful bookings though Add to Event, from small hires for parties to larger events such as Fun Days and dinners. One of our larger clients initially approached us through Add to Event for a smaller event of theirs; we have since provided a number of other services to various other events they have held, with great feedback. We do send clients that we're unable to help to Add to Event so they can find someone that matches what they're looking for easily. We'll continue to use Add to Event and will hopefully win a lot more work in the future!
