Smoke Truck Ltd was bought to life in 2021 by a couple who share a love of food. They offer a variety of different menu options to suit each individual event which would be discussed until the perfect menu is created. So whether it's a corporate event needing a meal, a wedding party after their evening nibbles or you simply want someone to come to you and cater for that special birthday and take the hassle away, they are more than happy to cater for you.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, the estimated number of guests, whether they are paying upfront or if their guests are paying. What the event is and where it is taking place. We would also need to know whether they can supply electricity or whether we need to supply our generator.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly, I would ask what food they cater and to see a menu, I believe this tells the customer a lot about them from the offset. Whether the food is bought from a reliable source and locally to them. I would also ask about packaging, whether it is environmentally friendly and 100% recyclable.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
My husband and I are big foodies, Italian and Greek Cypriot we grew up with food. We love trying different cultured food as well and it makes us happy. Food is a comfort and joy for many and we wanted to share this with other people and bring something different to our local community and others.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We have only been on here for approx a month and we have applied for quite a few that we feel would be suitable for us, some don't reply, some do and some choose someone else. We have actually secured 2 bookings already though, one is this coming weekend and the other is the following. Both local to where we live, the customers are extremely nice and I believe they will both go great. We can't wait to secure more through Add to Event
