Black Magic Studios

Black Magic Studios is a video and photography studio led by Tom Willson. We capture weddings, conferences, festivals, sports events and brand stories with a thoughtful, natural approach. From the atmosphere in the room and the people who make it special to the details you might miss on the day, we create work that feels true to your event.

Whether you need a wedding film, full event coverage, an on-the-day highlight, social clips or photography, we shape the coverage and final deliverables around what matters to you. We can also add aerial footage when the location, weather and permissions allow.

Based near Chichester in West Sussex, we regularly work across Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey and London, and travel throughout the UK. Tell us what you are planning and we will put together an approach that fits.

I’m Tom, the filmmaker behind Black Magic Studios. My interest in storytelling grew alongside a lifelong fascination with cameras and flying. What began with aerial work has grown into filming people, places and events from the ground as well as the air. I love finding the moments that make each project personal and turning them into films people want to watch again.

I film weddings, corporate events, conferences, sporting events and stories for schools and charities. Recent work ranges from multi-day conferences and major sports events to intimate celebrations. Black Magic Studios was a finalist in the 2026 Chichester & Bognor Regis Business Awards for Outstanding Start-Up.

I work with couples who want a film that feels like their day; event organisers who need reliable coverage and quick highlights; and businesses, venues, schools and charities who want clear, engaging content. Every brief is different, so I tailor the filming, photography and edits to the people and purpose behind it.

For aerial work, I hold a GVC and A2 Certificate of Competency and carry insurance for drone operations. Flights are planned around the location, permissions and conditions.
