Hi, I’m Corkey, the magician and children’s entertainer behind Corkey’s Magic Show Ltd.

My journey into entertainment started with a love of magic, making people laugh and, most importantly, seeing the reaction when someone witnesses something they simply can't explain. There’s something special about hearing a child shout, “How did you do that?!” and that’s the moment I knew this was something I wanted to share with others.

Over the years, my passion for magic developed into performing at parties, events and celebrations. I began creating my own style of entertainment, combining magic, comedy, audience participation, games and balloon modelling to make sure children aren't just sitting and watching — they're actually part of the show.

What inspires me most is the audience. Every child is different, every party is different and you never quite know what is going to happen! I love the excitement, the laughter, the funny answers and, of course, the children trying their very best to work out how I've done a trick.

Being a children's entertainer is about much more than knowing magic tricks. It's about understanding your audience, keeping children engaged, creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere and making sure everyone feels included.

I’m a proud Equity member and was delighted to receive a Children’s Entertainer Award in 2024. These achievements mean a lot to me because they recognise the hard work and dedication that goes into building a professional entertainment business.

Today, through Corkey’s Magic Show Ltd, I perform for children's birthday parties, schools, nurseries, community events, fetes, clubs, family days, corporate events and celebrations.

But the reason I continue doing it is very simple:

I love making people smile.

For me, the best part of any show isn't just the applause at the end. It's seeing those huge smiles, hearing the laughter and knowing that the children are going home with a magical memory they’ll hopefully remember for years to come.
