I work with couples who care more about being present than performing for the camera. The big laughs, the happy tears, your mates losing it on the dance floor, your mum fixing your outfit when no one’s looking — those are the moments that matter years from now. My job is to notice them quietly and capture them naturally, without turning your wedding into a photo shoot.
Most couples tell me they were worried about feeling awkward in front of the camera — and then later say they barely noticed I was there. That’s exactly how I like it. I’ll give gentle direction when you need it (especially for group shots and a few relaxed portraits), but the rest of the day is about you enjoying every second, not posing through it.
I photograph weddings across the North East and further, including Europe, and I take on a limited number each year so I can give every couple the attention they deserve — from helping with timeline tips before the day to delivering your photos quickly after.
If you’re planning a laid-back wedding and want photos that feel natural, joyful, and true to you, we’ll probably get along brilliantly.

Made us feel very at ease!
We had a very relaxed family wedding with only a few guests, and David managed to capture the atmosphere of our wedding day fantastically. He made an effort to get to known us both, perfectly matched our laid back approach, and was able to find some magical candid moments as well as take some more traditional group shots. His balance of providing a little direction when needed and blending into the the background unnoticed was perfect. The photos were provided in good time and you can tell that David picked out a good blend to tell the story of the day as it was. We cannot recommend him enough for any event.
Brilliant - Would recommend
David took photos at my Nanna's 100th birthday party and we could not be happier with the service he provided! Ahead of the event he answered all our questions and made sure he had all the information he needed so communication was great. Then at the event he arrived early and captured all the key moments from the party. He was always there, without ever feeling intrusive (other guests said this too!) And the photos are great! We love the mix of group and candid shots, it really captured the feel of the whole party. Post-event edits were quick too so it's been great not waiting long to see all our images! Amazing photographer!
David recently shot our wedding. Communication beforehand was excellent and he ensured he knew what we wanted from him ahead of the day. We had asked for natural candid shots and on the day I hardly noticed him there! He was such a lovely man and nothing was too much trouble for him, he even stayed around a bit longer to ensure he captured our first dance! Moving on the photos… wow, they are amazing. I was so nervous I wouldn’t like them as I hate myself on photos but they are just beautiful! He captured the essence of our special day and we now have the most perfect memories.
