About Douglas Alexander Grant

My name is Douglas Alexander Grant, and I grew up listening to my grandfather playing the pipes. I’ve been playing for some 30 years and have played in various pipe bands, including as a civilian piper in The 1st Royal Tank Regiment Pipes and Drums. It was with this band that I played for the Queen Mother's 100th Birthday Celebrations.

I’ve played pipes from Denmark to Germany to Scotland and Seattle and many places in between. It was an honour to play with my father's old regimental band, The Pipes and Drums of The London Scottish, on just a few memorable occasions at their amazing headquarters at Horseferry Road in London. I’ve played my pipes and modelled for a famous American clothing company, and I’m due to appear as a piper in a remake of a very famous film involving immortals and swords!

I take my piping very seriously, and a well-known and respected piper is currently tutoring me. I consider it a genuine pleasure and honour to be part of people’s special moments. I have an extensive wardrobe of vintage highland wear to make your occasion even more memorable.
