With a production capacity of up to 100 pizzas per hour, Firelight can comfortably cater for large groups while maintaining the quality and charm of traditional wood-fired cooking.

Firelight was created from a love of simple Mediterranean cooking and the timeless tradition of cooking over fire. There is something special about food prepared in a wood-fired oven – the smell of the fire, the warmth it brings, and the way people naturally gather around it. Our beautiful Grand-Mère wood-fired oven sits at the centre of what we do. Inspired by traditional European village cooking, we focus on honest ingredients, simple recipes, and generous hospitality. Firelight began with the idea that great food doesn’t need to be complicated – it just needs to be made well, with care and good ingredients. By bringing our oven to weddings, celebrations, and gatherings, we aim to create a relaxed and memorable experience where guests can enjoy authentic wood-fired pizzas cooked fresh in front of them. For us, it’s about more than pizza – it’s about sharing good food, warmth, and the simple pleasure of cooking with fire.

Firelight is led by Rhys Walters, a hospitality professional with over 10 years’ experience managing high-volume restaurants, bars, and hospitality venues. Throughout his career, Rhys has specialised in delivering excellent customer experiences while leading teams and managing busy service environments. Rhys was part of the opening team for Hubbox Cardiff, successfully launching the restaurant during the pandemic and exceeding performance targets. Prior to that he helped open Everyman Cinema Cardiff, where he recruited and trained a team of over 40 staff and helped significantly improve guest feedback scores. Earlier in his career, Rhys worked with ASK Italian across multiple sites in South Wales and the South West, focusing on training, operations, and team development. This experience provided a strong foundation in kitchen operations, service flow, and delivering consistent hospitality at scale. Combined with a Level 3 Food Safety qualification and extensive experience in busy hospitality environments, Firelight brings professional standards, organisation, and reliability to every event.

Firelight caters for weddings, private parties, corporate events, festivals, and community gatherings. Our typical clients are event organisers and hosts who want relaxed, high-quality food that becomes part of the experience.
