Glasgow by Drone

Glasgow By Drone films and photographs weddings, events, venues and businesses from the air. We're based in Glasgow, cover the whole of Scotland and travel further in the UK by quote.

At a wedding we film the parts of the day that only make sense from above: your venue and its setting, guests spilling out after the ceremony, the group shot and the light at golden hour. During the vows and speeches the drone stays on the ground. At festivals, concerts, sport and corporate events we show the size of the crowd and the whole site, without flying over people.

We also fly FPV. An FPV drone is small and flown through a headset, so it can go in the front door, along the bar and out onto the terrace in one continuous shot. We've filmed FPV tours of Glasgow venues including Ubiquitous Chip, Waxy O'Connor's, Kong and Hide & Seek. For open-air shots we fly DJI drones including the Air 3S.

Most of the work happens before take-off. We check the airspace, speak to your venue, get any landowner or air traffic permission and write the risk assessment, so there's nothing for you to sort out. Our pilots are CAA-certified and every flight is insured with CoverDrone. This is Scotland, so we watch the forecast in the run-up and talk you through the options early if wind or rain looks likely.

Depending on what you need, you get an edited aerial film and stills, short vertical cuts for social media, or graded clips handed straight to your videographer for their own edit.

I founded Glasgow By Drone in 2020. It started with a love of flying and of telling stories with a camera, and a drone let me do both at once.

Since then it has grown into a drone company working with venues, brands, event organisers, broadcasters and building owners across Scotland. What I enjoy most is finding the shot that only a drone can get: a venue and its setting at golden hour, the size of a festival crowd, or one unbroken FPV run through a busy bar. Every location is different, and planning each flight properly is as much a part of the job as flying it.

We've been flying since 2020 and have worked with the BBC, Glasgow City Council, Fly Festival in Edinburgh and AIM Rope Access & Many more clients over the years.

Recent work includes FPV tours of Ubiquitous Chip, Waxy O'Connor's, Kong, Hide & Seek and Radio in Glasgow, a promo for Proform Aesthetic Clinic's event on a floating venue on Loch Lomond, sunset aerials at Trump Turnberry in Ayrshire, and aerial and FPV footage of the Wallace Monument in Stirling. Further afield we've filmed a full resort tour at Breathless Riviera Cancun in Mexico, covering the beach, pools and events.
